The safest countries in the world in 2025 are countries that have lower GPI (Global Peace Index). GPI is the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness. The lower the GPI, the more peaceful the place is. 


The GPI score of each country is from the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) data. This data will be used to measure the safest countries in 2023. The reality is there is no country on earth today that is 100% completely safe. 


However, the countries on the list are safe as there is a low crime rate there. In fact, there is one country mentioned here where people hardly engage in stealing. 


Notwithstanding, despite the prestige and reputation of these places, when you get there, that doesn’t mean you should let down your guard completely. Furthermore, some countries on this list have low GPI because they do not have dangerous wildlife, even the smallest pest, the mosquito.

For the past 13 years in a row, this country remains the safest. There is a lower crime rate in this country, the community has trust in police, and there is less corruption and among others. 


In the country, police do not carry guns because criminal acts are rare. One of the reasons why there is a low crime rate in this place is the country's culture, its homogenous population, in which people are similar. 


The people there have a sensible friendly peaceful character yet strong. They considered themselves as one big family and actually they are. For example, if a bike is stolen, due to the population, the person stealing the bike will be related to the owner. 


Moreover, there are high employment rates for this there are fewer reasons to commit crimes like stealing. The murder rate is very low, per year; it is usually from 0 to 1.5. And if such incidents happen, people will talk about it for years. 


Everyone is entitled to practice his own religion and women are no longer looked down upon as they can be paid the same wage as men for the same work. The general language spoken in the country is English, there are no tribal differences. 


The country has amazingly fresh air, which people talk about because there is no pollution or bombing, it is an island at the center of the Atlantic Ocean. The country is so peaceful that there is no bodyguard, everyone feels safe, in fact, the president does not have a bodyguard.

People do not worry about others stealing their belongings, that they do not hold their bag so tight to themselves when they meet someone even at night. Even though serious crime does exist, the rate at which it happens is very low. 


New Zealanders believed that individuals are free to choose whatever lifestyle they want. They believed strict laws must be followed and police as well do not harass. Police do not carry firearms in this country.  


People here are easygoing, and the place is free from strife and violence between communities. There is less corruption in the country. Also, there is no snake or other dangerous wildlife there.

3. Denmark

Petty crimes such as pickpockets are very low. But it is good to remain alert all the time as well. Kidnapping or Muggings do not happen in this country. Still, it is advisable to avoid strangers offering you a drink if you travel to this country.

This country has a low crime rate, criminality acts are very rare, and when it happens, it’s typically happening to some isolated bad areas. 


But there have been reports of petty stealing in areas where there are visitors. So visitors are advised to be watchful of their belongings. Aside from that, the country is safe. 




5. Slovenia

Note that this is Slovenia and not Slovakia. It is a small country with a relatively small population. Transportation in this country is reliable and safe. Visitors are advised to negotiate transport prices before getting into a taxi to avoid clashes. 


It is a safe place, as violent crime is unusual; the only concern is petty theft which is not a too big problem. Visitors are advised to be watchful of bag snatchers and pickpockets. 


Even though people in this country occasionally do experience tremors, since it is on an earthquake fault line, they are not threatened by natural disasters.

This country is certainly one of the safest countries in the world in 2025 that many dreams of vacation as for winter lovers and skiing. In crowded areas, pickpocketing is common. Bicycle theft is also common in large cities but rarely happens in small towns. Criminal acts rarely occur. 


If you are to visit this country, don't worry about being kidnapped or being mugged. A terrorist attack is the least concern there, although, in 2016, a terrorist attack was prevented in Vienna, one of the country's cities.

7. Switzerland

For this, people in this country are not drawn to a criminal act. Although the country has strict laws including gun control laws, people there are law-abiding citizens.

10. Canada                             

Canada is one out of the safest countries in the world which is beautiful.

However, valuables need to be protected including passports. In addition to that, during the winter, caution needs to be taken, as there can be extremely cold weather and the summer can be hot that sometimes results in wildfires in the countryside. Aside from that, the place is safe.

This country has strict laws including laws on chewing gum, smoking, and drinking. Cities are free from smoke, Jaywalking as well as chewing gum is illegal. If caught with drugs, it can result in death. 


Police do not stay in many locations like how they are found in the USA. Singaporeans have medium education and even the locals can speak English. 


Things are less expensive in this country and people here are very approachable. The crime rate is low in this country, yet drug-related offenses, scams, and pickpocketing are the common crimes.

This country would have been between 2 to 5 on this list, but the reason the country dropped below the top 10 among the safest countries in the world is that they experience natural disasters. 


The geographical location of this country is not favorable, as it is on the region’s tectonic plates. People experience earthquakes, typhoons, flooding, and, tsunamis. If you want to travel to this country, be mindful of the season and be updated regularly as to the weather. 




13. Finland                                   

Finland is a beautiful place on the list of the safest countries in the world.

Finland is a perfect place for tourists even for solo travelers as it is one of the safest countries in the world. There is a lack of dangerous wild animals. The country also ranks as the first place regarding police reliable services. 


Its crime rate is low but not completely free of crime such as other countries mentioned above as there is pickpocketing. 


Helsinki is one of the big cities in the country where people are friendly and warm, even at that, it is important to protect your belongings.  Rural areas are safer compares to urban areas. The most safety issue here is related to car accidents.
