Coronavirus ailment is a new infectious disease that is triggered by Coronavirus. The Coronavirus ailment has caused so much damage to humanity as regards to health, the economy as well as society. It spreads quickly gaining its way through the entire globe. The most commonly discussed word around the globe is Coronavirus.



#1. Types of Coronavirus


Viruses with crown-like spikes on their surface are known as Coronavirus.
There are seven Coronavirus that can cause ailment in humans they are,

3. Coronavirus OC43
4. Coronavirus HKU1
5. MERS-CoV 
6. SARS-CoV

#2. COVID-19


Coronavirus infection is previously known as a 2019 novel Coronavirus infection (2019-nCoV). On 11 February 2020, WHO announce Coronavirus infection as COVID-19 to the public. 


Coronavirus disease got the new name from Corona (CO), virus (Vi), disease (D), and the year it was discovered which is 2019 in the month of December giving it the new name COVID-19. ^2


#3. Coronavirus prevention




Regular hand washes: frequent hand washes with soap and running water (which is the best) or rubbing hand with sanitizer or alcohol-based hand rub thoroughly, this will kill the virus.



Surgical mask: first, before touching the mask, wash your hands with soap and water or sanitizer or alcohol-based hand rub, after, you mask up. Make sure it covers your mouth and nose, not below your nose, also with no gap between your face and the mask. 


Do not touch the mask on your face while using it and when you are done with it, just remove it into the bin. After which you should wash your hand thoroughly with soap and water or sanitizer.



Social distancing: distance yourself from anyone coughing or sneezing for at least 1 meter because you could breathe in droplets containing the  Coronavirus if too close to the person having it. Avoid crowded areas as well.




Observe excellent respiratory hygiene: when sneeze or cough, make a bend and do it to your elbow and not in your hands, the tissue used should be disposed of into a closed bin immediately. 


Avoid touching your face, touching your eyes, nose, and mouth because your hands might be contaminated with the virus. The virus can go into the body easily through the area.


Stay safe: staying at home, not going about unnecessarily is one of the courses of action to prevent the spread of infection because it will reduce contact with others.


Get medical help: if you have a fever, or any symptoms, such as cough and difficult breathing, lack or aggravated sense of smell or taste, then seek medical help immediately.^3


#4. CODVID-19 Symptoms 

Coughing, sneezing, fever, and trouble breathing are all signs of the Coronavirus. The virus causes mild, moderate, and severe respiratory disease in the majority of people who contract it. 


Elderly adults who have underlying medical diseases such as hypertension, cancer, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and diabetes are more likely to have severe forms of the sickness.^4

#6. COVID-19 is not airborne

Coronavirus illness is spread through droplets. Airborne microbes can linger in the air for a long period and spread to others over distances of more than 1 meter. 


COVID19 is far too hefty to stay in the air for an extended period of time. Nonetheless, the WHO continues to advise against airborne measures.


Coronavirus sickness can be avoided by washing hands often, wearing a mask, and keeping a safe distance from others. Regular sanitization and social distance will be ineffective if it is airborne. ^6

There has been ongoing vigorous research as to the effective vaccine, which involves testing on animals. As of the time of writing this article, there is no yet vaccines for COVID-19.^7

Wuhan

On December 31, 2019, in Wuhan, China, the first case of Coronavirus illness was recorded. The incident is linked to a seafood market in Wuhan, according to the China National Health Commission.


On January 13, 2020, the first case in Thailand was confirmed in a lab and linked to Wuhan. Japan confirmed its first case in the laboratory on January 15, 2020; the sick person is also linked to the Chinese city of Wuhan.



#9. It is not a death sentence

Infections with Covid19 do not necessarily result in mortality.
More than 200,000 people who were infected with the virus have recovered.


But it doesn't mean you have to put yourself in situations where you could become infected, because thousands of people, young and old, have died as a result of underlying health issues or no previous health issues.

Though the outbreak of the disease is from china, it has spread to 203 countries and territories infecting about one million individuals. 


The U.S has the most infected individual, followed by Italy and Spain. Has regard death per 1 million population, Italy has the highest death/1M pop of 218, Spain has 194 and Andora, 181. ^8
